Law Students, Paralegals, and Law Graduates

Law Student, paralegal, law graduate, and paralegal student volunteers bring valuable support to attorney volunteers and to Legal Aid as a whole. Working in partnership with local law schools and universities, the LAWO Pro Bono Program offers valuable experience to law and paralegal students in the service of low-income individuals in need of legal assistance.

Requirements for volunteering with Legal Aid include a commitment to helping low-income persons; excellent communication skills; an ability to work independently and with a team; and respect for people of diverse cultures and communities. Additional requirements include a proficiency in MS Office 365; attention to detail; and the ability to handle multiple tasks.

Other Volunteer Opportunities

LAWO is always interested in working with individuals willing to volunteer to assist our clients. Please contact us at probono@lawolaw.org to explore volunteer opportunities with LAWO.

“There is such a great need out there for legal assistance amongst low income individuals - LAWO does an incredible job filling the gap, but there always remains a great need for volunteerism amongst attorneys. I believe it is our distinct privilege as legal professionals to be able to serve in this way.”
