Kevin has been a member of the LAWO team since 1999. He has served as the executive director since 2001. Before joining LAWO Kevin worked at LAWO’s partner law firm, Advocates for Basic Legal Equality, Inc., for eight years as a senior attorney and managing attorney.

He is passionate about ensuring that LAWO’s clients and client communities receive the legal assistance they need to achieve justice in their communities. He is committed to seeing that LAWO is the poverty law firm of choice for clients, its employees, and those who fund our services.

Before joining the legal services community, Kevin worked for three years as an assistant public defender in Dutchess County, New York and served for two years as a federal district court law clerk in the Western District of Michigan. He is a proud graduate of Central Michigan University (B.S. 1980), the American University, Washington College of Law (J.D. and M.A. 1984), and Columbia Law School (LL.M. 1991). A Michigander at heart, Kevin has found a home in Toledo where he enjoys reading, participating in Toledo’s many cultural opportunities, and taking advantage of the extensive Metro Park system and waterways.
