George's Story
LAWO and our partners at Advocates for Basic Legal Equality, Inc. (ABLE) recently helped a tenant facing eviction maintain his housing. George had just moved into his apartment when his landlord accused him of dishonesty, alleging he had not truthfully disclosed whether he had been convicted of or charged with a felony.
George's legal team at LAWO and ABLE sprang into action, conducting thorough research and filing a motion to dismiss the eviction complaint. They represented George in court, arguing that his record was sealed and therefore he had not been untruthful. The judge agreed and dismissed the complaint for eviction. Thanks to the diligent efforts of LAWO and ABLE, George can now enjoy living safely and securely in his apartment.
